A QR (Quick Response) Code is no different than the barcodes you see
in the supermarket. They are scannable 2D codes that prompt a specific
action including opening a web page, downloading an app or taking you to a social profile.
If you’ve bought a movie, concert or plane ticket recently you’ve probably been sent a QR code and if you use Snapchat you might have seen you can add people by scanning their SnapCode.
The reason the codes have now come into their own is because our phones can now easily scan the code using the photo app with no third-party app required.
This opened up possibilities for brands to debut all new campaigns featuring QR codes in their marketing.
QR codes can be a helpful tool to better engage with your audience. It’s another instant way to drive traffic to exactly where you want them to go.
There are lots of free QR Code generators online or for a small fee you can track your QR Code and analyse its performance. You can even add your logo or an image to a QR code too!
So, keep your eye out for QR Codes in advertising, I think you’ll be surprised just how many you’ll see as the QR Code trend continues to grow.
